.Synopsis for the southern California coast and Santa Barbara
Channel including the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary
and National Park...at 18Z or 11 AM PDT, a 1022 mb surface high was
about 800 NM NW of Point Conception, while a 1011 mb thermal low
was south of Las Vegas. Hurricane Rachel was 930 NM southeast of Los
Angeles and is expected to bring southerly swell to the coastal
waters beginning Sunday.
